Letter From the Vietnamese Community

Vietnamese Community in Australia ACT Chapter
3 October, 1992

Many years ago in a far away land, your loved one fought and gave his life for what he believed.  He believed that all mankind should live together in peace, that basic human rights, democracy, freedom of religion and speech must prevail.
For those causes, he sacrificed his life.
Words are not enough to speak for our hearts, of our sorrow and how much we admired and deeply grieved for your loss.  On behalf of the Vietnamese Community in the ACT, we would like to express our deepest and most sincere condolences to your family.
As for the Vietnamese people, the fight for basic human rights, democracy, freedom of religion and speech is still continuing.
Today, the 3rd of October 1992, please be assured that we will stand among you, side by side, to commemorate all those brave Australians who have given their lives for these causes.  May their sacrifice and love always shine upon us.
Lest we forget.
Respectfully Yours,
Duy Quang Nguyen
President, Vietnamese Community in the ACT
